Recipes to RememberThis is a great project for school as well as for individuals.
Make up a letter that explains the project and send it to family and friends. Send decorated recipe cards (you pick how many recipes to ask for, but I wouldn't suggest any more than 3) with the letter and explain that you (or your school) are gathering favorite recipes for a special scrapbook. Ask them if they would like to send a photo or 2 of them and their family and a short introduction, or story about themselves or the recipes they send. As you get them back in the mail(if you can possibly afford it send self addressed stamped envelopes with the letter and cards because the easier you make it the more likely you are to get an answer)make as many copies of everything as you need (1 for each kid and maybe some extras in case you want to make some as presents!). You can either file the originals or use them in a "master" recipe book that you make. With the copies the children may set up the scrapbook any way they wish. This is a recipe book that will help them to get to know relatives that live far away, and it will be cherished and used well into adulthood! We are about to do this project, so I will report back on how it goes!
